If you need a forklift licence but can’t take time off work, weekend training is the answer.
Ascent Training Solutions’ weekend forklift course is designed to get you licensed in just two days, rather than the standard three-day weekday format.
With a mix of self-paced study and hands-on training, this course is structured to help busy professionals gain certification quickly and efficiently.
How weekend forklift courses work
Time is money, and for many full-time workers, taking days off isn’t an option, so a weekend forklift course is the perfect solution.
Our weekend format is designed for efficiency while still meeting national training standards. Here’s what to expect:
Pre-course independent study
Before attending, participants complete essential learning materials to ensure they’re prepared.
Day 1: theory & practical training
Hands-on experience combined with knowledge-based learning.
Independent study is required between day 1 and 2 to ensure you meet the necessary learning hours and are fully prepared for the practical components.
Day 2: final training & assessment
Demonstrate your knowledge and skills in your final assessment, and on successful completion, you will be eligible to apply for a LF Class QLD High Risk Work Licence (HRWL), through Workplace Health and Safety QLD (WHSQ).
Forklift course FAQs
We often get asked if you need prior experience operating a forklift or if you need a driver’s license, and you don’t need either! The only prerequisite is to be at least 18 years old and be proficient (read and write) with basic English.
Our hands-on approach ensures that even beginners gain the skills and confidence to operate a forklift safely by the end of the course.
Get certified and stay ahead in your industry
A forklift licence opens doors to career opportunities in warehousing, construction, and the transport industry.
